ANOM Operation Ironside
The ANOM sting operation (known as Operation Trojan Shield or Operation Ironside) was a collaboration between multiple law enforcement agencies, running between 2018 and 2021, that intercepted millions of messages sent through the supposedly secure smartphone-based messaging app. The operation resulted in the arrest of over 800 suspects allegedly involved in criminal activity, in 16 countries.

The Colonial Pipeline Ransomware attack.
On May 7, 2021, Colonial Pipeline, an American oil pipeline system that originates in Houston, Texas, suffered a ransomware cyberattack. Colonial Pipeline paid the requested ransom (75 bitcoin or $4.4 million). With the assistance of the FBI and DoJ, approximately USD2.3 million (in bitcoin) were recovered.

In January 2021, a third-party file-sharing application used by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to share and store some sensitive information was breached. There are speculations that the hacking was done by another government as there was no ransom request.
