What do Skills Campus courses include?

Skills Campus courses include all the necessary materials needed to successfully complete the course and pass the exam. Course specific details can be found on the course pages.

How do I take a Skills Campus course?

‍Skills Campus courses are entirely on-demand. You can begin the course whenever you like, and you will have 3 months of access to the course material. Skills Campus courses can be accessed from any device, provided you have internet access. 

After you enroll in a course, you can access it by clicking on the course link you will receive in your confirmation email (provided you are logged into your account). 


‍Do I have to start my Skills Campus course at a certain time? And how long do I have to complete it? 

For self-paced courses, access begins once the course has been purchased. 

For blended and hybrid courses, classes will be at certain dates and certain times. There will be a range of dates to choose from. Access to course materials will be given closer to the start date of a blended or hybrid course. 

Access to the course material can be up to 3 months from the starting date and will still be available until the end of this period regardless of early completion. You will also have an additional two weeks’ access to your account after the 3-month period is finished. 


‍Is Skills Campus an accredited institution? Do I receive anything after I complete a course?

While Skills Campus is not an accredited institution, we offer skills-based courses taught by experts in their field, and every approved, paid course features a certificate of completion to document your accomplishment. You will receive a badge that you can attach to your LinkedIn profile. You will also receive a Skills Campus certificate signed by the CEO. 


‍How can I pay for a course?

Skills Campus supports several different payment methods. We are currently accepting Credit Card (No surcharge), Paypal, Google Pay, and Shop Pay. We are also accepting installment payments (T’s & C’s apply).  


‍What if I do not like a course I purchased?

There is a strict no-refund policy for all our courses. If you are unsure if a course is for you, contact us as sales@skillscampus.co.nz and we can set you up with a course preview. 


‍Where can I go for help?

If you find you have a question about a paid course while you are taking it, you can search for answers to your question in the FAQs, ask the instructor, phone us, or email us.


How does the online learning platform work?

If you are familiar with computers and smart devices like iPhone, the online courses are simple to use. However, we understand that some people have little or no experience online and it can be a little daunting. As a result, we have included the below tutorial to help you get started.

‍Are there any additional costs involved other than the course fee displayed online?

We try to make our fees all inclusive. For most of the courses, the fee you see displayed is the fee you will pay. Optional practical training costs apply as and when required. (Selected courses only). 


‍Are there any time limits on the courses?

Time and duration for each course are clearly displayed on each course listing. Typical limits are three (3) months from the date of enrolment. This allows students plenty of time to complete their chosen course.


‍Can I pay my fees as I study?

In most cases the answer is yes. To enrol on a pay as you study basis you will need to enrol and pay your deposit. There are fees to pay in addition if you take out this option. A deposit is required at time of enrolment with the balance spread typically between 2 - 6 months. See individual course details as this can vary. *Personal details and bank account accepting direct debit required. 


‍Are there any age limits or restrictions?

We do recommend that students are aged 16 or above for Skills Campus courses. Education should be available to all and we try to impose no limits. If you are under 16 and want to study, please contact us before you enrol as we will need to speak to your parent/guardian. 


‍Is it possible to study more than one course at a time?

Yes. Look at the course duration and requirements on each listing and as long as you feel you can find the time you should have no problem at all. 


‍Do I need additional materials?

In most cases, no. Course packages come with a broad range of materials that are sufficient to excel in the course. It will be clearly listed in the course details if additional materials or books are required. If this is this case, these will need to be purchased separately. 


‍What are the entry requirements for your courses?

Most of our courses require no previous skills or qualifications to enrol. If required, it is clearly listed in the course details. Our Skills Campus team is happy to give you advice on if a specific course is right for you. 


‍When do the courses start?

The flexibility of self-paced courses means that there are no term times at all. Students can enrol whenever they feel the time is right at any time, 365 days of the year. 

Blended and hybrid courses will have specific dates and times for classes. Details and options will be available on the course page.  


‍What is Hybrid learning?

Hybrid learning is delivered on-site and online simultaneously. The trainer will be on-site with some students, while others will be online. Students in both locations can interact with each other, as well as the trainer.


‍Are the courses difficult?

The difficulty will vary among courses, of which is displayed on each course page. This will also be determined by your effort, discipline and ability. All our self-paced courses are designed and written to be studied from home and are laid out in a simple, easy-to-follow manner. This will allow you to work through them at a reasonable rate without having to call in for continual support. For blended and hybrid courses, there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions to your instructor during class time. 


How do I enrol?

The enrolment process is simple. You can register and make payment in three different ways. Choose to register and make payment online, over the telephone or post. 


‍How long does it take to finish a course?

This will vary greatly depending on the course taken. We try to display an average completion time within each course listing to use as a guide. We impose no restrictions on how quickly you complete. If you are looking to complete in a short time, this is achievable with the right attitude and application. 


‍Can I cancel or swap courses if I change my mind?

We have a strict no-refund policy for our courses. We can organise a course transfer for you at the cost of the new course. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more information. 


‍I need to stop my course due to my circumstances changing, what happens?

In these instances, this is beyond the control of the college. It is the student’s responsibility to complete and manage their time within the allowed duration of their course. We do not issue refunds of any kind due to students not being able to complete for any reason. Extensions can be arranged at an additional cost if required allowing students more time to complete. 


‍Are there any discounts if I am unemployed?

Unfortunately, no discounts are available to unemployed students. However, we can arrange a discount if you purchase 2 or more courses within 3 months. Please contact sales@skillscampus.co.nz for details. 


‍Can I obtain a scholarship to study with Skills Campus?

Scholarships are not available with Skills Campus at this moment. 


‍Do I need to attend any classes or lectures?

If you are doing a self-paced course, then you will not have any classes to attend. If you have chosen a blended or hybrid course, then there will be classes on set days and times as already confirmed before course purchase. These classes, however, are not compulsory and it is up to you to attend and participate. 


‍I have found the course cheaper elsewhere; can you beat their price?

‍My course is not working properly, what can I do?

Our online courses work best with the latest browsers. If you need some help, please contact us and we will get you sorted. 


‍Where do I take the training?

All our self-paced courses are completed online through our learning management system (LMS). This means you have 24/7 access to your materials, no matter where you are, as long as you have a device and internet access.  


‍If I need help with the training, is anyone on hand to offer guidance?

‍When can I get started?

Once you have signed up for a course, our team will issue you with your login details and ensure that you can access the materials. 


‍Can I use a Mac?

Yes, our learning platforms are Mac and PC friendly. If you have any issues, our team are more than happy to help. 


‍Is the exam cost included in the price?

No. Some packages include at least one practice exam to help you identify your exam readiness. External providers deliver the exams, but we can help you find a testing centre near you or online. 

‍Does certification guarantee me a job?

We cannot guarantee that you will get a job after gaining a certification. However, we can guarantee that certification opens doors to interviews, giving you opportunities to stand out from the crowd which you might otherwise have missed out on. 


‍Can I purchase this on behalf of someone else?

Yes, however, the name of the student must be given accurately upon enrolment as this will be published on the certificate after course completion.
