About New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL)
Who is this course for?
The course is tailored to community service providers such as customer services, administrators, front desk services, healthcare workers, social workers, teachers, and any service-facing personnel who want to expand their communication skills.
NZSL can also be learnt for fun/interest, or for communicating with family/friends that are deaf or hard of hearing.
New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) is one of the three official languages in Zealand which is used as a form of communication for approximately 400,000 New Zealanders that are deaf or hard of hearing.
NZSL is crucial to many people’s ability to communicate and participate in society. Like any other language, NZSL opens the doors to new cultures, people, and understandings. But with NZSL, you will also become a better listener, communicator, speller, and multitasker.

Course content and materials are powered by Skills Campus’ delivery partner Merge NZ.
